Shelley Jackson
Die amerikanisch-italienische Sopranistin Shelley Jackson ist in der internationalen Opernszene vor allem im dramatischen Sopranfach tätig. Zuletzt war sie als Katerina Ismailova in Lady Macbeth von Mzensk am Oldenburgischen Staatstheater zu erleben. 2025 sang sie Mimì in La bohème bei den DomStufen-Festspielen in Erfurt. Zuvor war sie als Tosca am Stadttheater Klagenfurt und mit dem Theater und Orchester Neubrandenburg sowie als Violetta in La traviata und Ellen Orford in Peter Grimes am Schleswig-Holsteinischen Landestheater engagiert.
Weitere wichtige Partien ihrer bisherigen Laufbahn sind Katerina Ismailova in Lady Macbeth von Mzensk, mit der sie ihr Rollendebüt am Landestheater Detmold gab, Tatjana in Eugen Onegin, Mimì in La bohème, Donna Anna in Don Giovanni, die Titelrolle in Manon und Anna Bolena. In der Spielzeit 2019/20 gab sie ihr Debüt als Tosca an der Malmö Opera. Engagements führten sie außerdem an das Opernhaus Zürich, das Badische Staatstheater Karlsruhe, das Salzburger Landestheater, das Teatro Massimo in Palermo, das Grange Festival und die Santa Fe Opera, wo sie ihr professionelles Operndebüt als Norina in Don Pasquale gab. Shelley Jackson absolvierte ihre musikalische Ausbildung am Peabody Conservatory in Baltimore, an der Temple University in Philadelphia sowie bei Mirella Freni am Centro Universale di Bel Canto in Modena. Sie gewann 2017 den zweiten Preis beim Maria Callas Grand Prix und 2016 den Joan Sutherland Prize bei der Veronica Dunne International Singing Competition.
